My Daily Skincare Routine - #NaturalBeautybyLuanaMarchi
We care so much about what we eat and often forget that our skin is our largest organ and anything in contact with our skin will be directly absorbed into the bloodstream. What we apply to our bodies has a huge influence on our general health.
All my philosophy about skincare products and make up is parallel to my food and sustainable living philosophy. The simpler the better, I’ve already did a previous post with tips for healthier and nourished skin, regards to cosmetics I opt for using only natural and organic products without all the harmful chemicals and additives, taking a holistic and natural approach to looking after myself.
Remember that the most important factor of how we look on the outside, is how we’re treating our bodies on the inside. This is affected by how we eat and nourish our bodies, stress levels, sleep quality and other lifestyle factors — these combined with natural skincare play a huge role in my beauty regimen.
My beauty routine is actually very simple, but since I always receive questions about it, I finally put a post together about my skincare routine;
Being diagnosed with PCOS (Poly Cycstic Ovarian Syndrome) since my teens one of the many symptoms that has always bothered me is the recurrent cystic acne/Adult Acne problems.
My type of skin is Oily and dehydrated at the same time. After trying many brands and types of cosmetics and also hearing from professionals that Natural and Organic products wouldn’t “do the job” for my type of skin I was introduced to Juniper Organic Skincare and after spoken with one of their Beauty Therapists and checking the skin guide that they have available in their website, I found out that they have a range of products specific for my skin type. It has been about 6 months that I’m using it and I already can see a huge difference.
Face Cleansing & Toning
I wash my face every morning when I wake up and evenings before going to bed with their Oil Balancing Cleanser which has great pore refining and oil balancing properties followed by the Oil Purifying Treatment Toner
Exfoliation is an absolute must. It helps to keep pores clear and stimulates collagen production and makes my skin glow. I exfoliate 1-2 times a week with their Purifying Facial Exfoliant which contains enriched with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Contains free flowing micro-spheres of jojoba beads that are non abrasive to the developing skin cells and effectively remove dull, dead cells whilst balancing the skins oil production.
Moisturising and Serum
During the mornings after cleansing and toning I always apply their Oil Balancing Lotion that is lightweight easily absorbed its therapeutic properties regulates the sebum production and has astringent and antiseptic properties that are beneficial for oily and acne prone skin. Follow by the Antioxidant Skin Firming Serum which has a lightweight gel based firming serum enriched with precious Rose Otto, Micro-algae, Carotenoids and potent Anti-oxidants restore the skins natural elasticity and radiance and protect it from environmental stresses.
As a powerful antioxidant it helps to reduce blemishes by preventing sebum oxidation, increases the production of collagen, and helps lighten dark spots.
I use the Vitamin C+ Night Serum twice per week at night time intercalating with the Oil Balancing Lotion and Serum.
As much as I’m a huge fan of the Juniper cosmetics when it comes to make up I recommend Lust Mineral Cosmetics with my eyes closed. And I was sure I should give it a try when I saw they share the same vision as I “The most beautiful cosmetic you can wear is a healthy skin”.
I’m really basic and like to look natural, so I don’t see the use of make up as an obligation. I use it to uplift my Natural Beauty, and mask few imperfections like pimples or circles under my eyes and I know that it really helps to strengthen my confidence.
Daily SPF + Make up
I find the BB Cream Foundation from Lust a little thicker, so I like to mix it with my Sunscreen and the a Primer to look natural and feel lightweight.
I hope this was helpful! I know it is not a small list so I really recommend you to do some researches and consulting a professional before investing. I tried a lot of other products and these are the ones that worked best to my skin and what I used consistently. I also add some treatments here and there such as deep cleansing facial, Microdermabrasion, Hydrafacial and Face Masks (my favourites are the one made with fruits)
